animated title sequence

Below is the animated title sequence for Unit 30. The quality of the video is degraded because it is streaming online and it may "jitter" a little, but rest assured, the REAL sequence looks great and is very reminiscent of South Park. I am a few short days away from a rough cut. Stay tuned!

Unit 30 location!

Today we shot at the actual 'Unit 30' location! Well, not the actual Unit 30, because Unit 30 does not exist. Or does it? Regardless of whose sacrificing who, we had a great time and I'm excited to review the footage. Enjoy the photos, I posted quite a few! As always, thank you Hamilton Photography

pick up shots + plus fisheye lens = What you see below

So we had to get a couple of pick up shots today involving the delivery guy scenes. Since we already had great onset photos from those shooting days, our onset photographer decided to have a little fun with the photos she captured today. These were taken with a fish eye lens, and yes, we really are comic book heroes. Again, many thanks to Hamilton Photography for the awesome photos

First day of filming

We had our first day of filming yesterday and I couldn't be happier with the results. Everything went smoothly and every one's efforts are/were greatly appreciated. All of the actors were prepared, the onset photographer was amazing, noise was cooperating, and everyone that came to help out was greatly appreciated. I'm going to try to get some editing done next week and I'm hoping to get a rough cut of one of the scenes that we shot yesterday up on the blog in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite photos that were taken during the shoot, click on the photo if you'd like to see it bigger

Messenger service logo

In the short film there is a messenger service that plays an intricate part in the story. We decided to have some fun with the company name and logo. Can you spot the fun? Here's a hint: Look up what "Day Star" means in Latin and figure out what the symbol between the word Day and Star signifies. Hmmm, I guess that was more than a hint, huh?

Audition video

We were lucky enough to have Jaclyn Carmichael audition for the role of 'The Old Lady'. She did a phenomenal job and really brought the character to life. Her audition was amazing and if you ignore the bad sound and bad lighting, the video we shot of her audition is amazing too!
